Katalyst is looking to expand their roster. The open call will be open to all who are interested in seeking representation with Katalyst. Katalyst accepts beginners and those with extensive experience. Katalyst represents actors and models locally and nationally. Majority of the work booked is in the tri-state area. Katalyst does work on nationally based projects. Below you will find the information that will best prepare you for the open call.

As many of you know we lost an amazing light in our industry this year.

Silvana Gallardo developed a method that helped launched many careers including Angelina Jolie and Peta Wilson. We had been fortunate enough to have her teaching many of our talent in the region over the last few years.

Her partner for many years John Gavigan will be carrying forth the torch of her teaching.

He will be holding a class Saturday the 28^th of January from 12-4pm at their studio in Paris, KY. With pilot season and the flurry of major motion pictures coming to the region it is the ideal time to learn or continue to study the Gallardo Method.

Talent I want to address something I have been seeing online lately.

There are production companies in the region advertising for actors to participate in commercials in exchange for gift certificates, free for the experience or for $50 for principal work in commercials. These are commercials that are airing in some cases locally and some cases nationally.

I encourage you not to accept this work. The crew and the producer are being paid by the client to produce that commercial. If they are getting paid you should be getting paid.

If you have not done work before would it be good experience yes, but understand what you are doing.

The production companies that are doing this are harming the industry as a whole. They are underbidding a project in order to get the work I am sure to provide for themselves and their families. But what they are causing to happen is a dangerous slippery slope.

So the production companies that are bidding on the commercials with a fair rate for the talent are not winning the job. If you the actors keep working for free or subpar rates, the production companies that are underbidding the jobs will get more and more work. Thus creating less and less paid work for you the actors. And perhaps some of the production companies who are bidding with fair rates for the talent will then start saying to themselves why should we pay the talent if they are going to work for free. And they start underbidding with that in mind.

With the economy the way it is rates are already lower than they used to be. We must stand strong on this today or tomorrow we will starve. 

Kentucky local, Warren Bryson, has been chosen as Katalyst's Talent Spotlight of the Month! Warren recently landed the lead role in an upcoming feature film, Forever's End, which is currently shooting in the area. Soon Warren will be heading west to work as an actor and said, "Thanks to all the different auditions, jobs and workshops I've had through Katalyst, I've made connections with some remarkable LA directors, actors, agents and managers." Katalyst wishes Warren the best of luck on his move to LA and knows he has an amazing career ahead of him. Congratulations Warren!

Big city Broadway is set to meet Katalyst Talent early in 2012. Leading Broadway Casting Office Telsey and Company will be coming all the way from New York City to see Northern Kentucky as well as Great Cincinnati actors and actresses. In 2010, Telsey and Company was rated the most powerful casting office on Broadway.

Not only will Telsey and Company be looking for possible future Broadway stars but Bryan Leder of Management 101 in Los Angeles will be scouting for Talent to represent as well. Katalyst is fortunate enough to expose their Talent to both East and West coast industry leaders all in one day!

Ciara Bravo, Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush to Sign Autographs

Ciara will be signing autographs at Holy Cross Parish's Summer Festival. She will be signing autographs from 6-8pm on Friday the 22nd of July. 

Holy Cross is located at 3612 Church St Covington KY 41015. 

Ms Bravo is receiving no compensation for her appearance. All proceeds will be going to support Holy Cross Church and Elementary School. 

The church asks that you make a $2 donation for Ms. Bravo's autographed photo. 

Kentucky Local, Brady Grove, is a rising star and has been chosen as Katalyst's Talent Spotlight of the Month! Young Brady recently shot a pilot for Disney entitled, Pack of Wolves. With the help of Katalyst, Brady experienced a dream come true living the high life Disney Studios.

Since being signed with Katalyst Brady has booked both commercial and film spots before landing the lead role in his pilot with Disney. Coming from Kentucky, Brady was signed by Management 101 of Los Angeles after attending a workshop held by Katalyst. He is even currently auditioning from Northern Kentucky for more big projects. We would like to congratulate Brady on being Katalyst's Talent Spotlight of the Month.

Katalyst Talent Agency today announced a partnership with Cincinnati’s Bridalrama 2011. Katalyst will be donating their Talent to model the gorgeous wedding gowns that will be displayed at the event during a runway extravaganza. Katalyst will also donate 1,000 dollars to one lucky Bride.

Katalyst Talent Agency today named Serena Stoddard as the First Talent Spotlight of the Month.  Stoddard, a 13 year old Louisville Kentucky resident has been working hard at her craft since the early age of 5. Dean Fronk of Pemrick-Fronk Casting is scheduled to see Katalyst Talent in May! Dean's office casts Features, Television and Movies of the Week. Dean's last workshop with us was very popular. He was very generous and offered everyone that attended the last workshop that when they were in LA they could schedule a general meeting with him. Anyone in LA can tell you how hard generals are to get with casting offices. Dean has cast Katalyst talent in the past on two different projects and is currently casting a television series as well as several films. We are very excited to have Dean Fronk, a leading Hollywood Casting Director, see Katalyst Talent on Sunday the 15th of May, 2011.

It will be held this Thursday March 10th from 3pm-6pm at Katalyst. We are seeking talent of all ages. We recently had casting director Rachel Hoffman in. She was so pleased with our talent that she is going to allow us to put our folks on tape for upcoming projects. One of the first in the pipeline is the Broadway revival of Annie. 

Katalyst's own Jack Walz is appearing in Steven Spielberg's highly anticipated " I am Number 4" Katalyst booked Jack in the film that shot in Pittsburgh, last year. 

Jack is attending a cast and crew only screening in Los Angeles this week at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The film opens nationwide February 18th. 

Jack plays Dianna Agron's (Glee) little brother in this film.

Jennifer Millar from Abrams Artists LA will see Katalyst talent on January 9th. She will be scouting for pilot season.

Geralyn Flood, casting director for Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush will be seeing Katalyst talent on February 20th.

Congratulations to Katalyst Alum Adam Gregory for booking the role of Thomas, Ridge Forrester's son on Bold and the Beautiful! Adam's episodes started airing September 22nd. Katalyst placed Adam with a management co in LA. He is currently repped by Jennifer Millar at Abrams Artists and managed by Beverly Strong of Strong Management.

Congratulations to Katalyst's own Matt Gallagher booked his first pilot out in Los Angeles! Katalyst placed Matt with Abrams Artists in Los Angeles last year.

The pilot is called Natural Born Worrier. It stars Ashley Jensen and is directed by Clare Kilner.

His character is called Dan.

I am proud to announce that Katalyst is succeeding in the worst economy in decades. This year we have billed almost double what we billed last year for the first five months. We have outgrown our original office space and are moving to a better neighborhood and triple the size.

We are moving to Edgewood KY, which was recently named the fifth best neighborhood to live and work in the Greater Cincinnati region by Cincy Magazine.

Jack will be playing younger brother to Dianna Argon (Glee).

Howard Meltzer the casting director for Hannah Montana has agreed to come back and do a workshop with our talent on May 9th , 2010.

Our own Ciara Bravo has signed a 3 year contract with Nickelodeon. She will play Katie in Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush. The show will air Friday's at 8:30 on Nickelodeon.

Katalyst's own Galadriel Stineman will be starring as Gwen Tennyson in a live action TV movie based on the popular Cartoon Network cartoon. She will be traveling the globe with other members of the cast to promote the premier. Kat got Galadriel placed with Abrams Artists Agency in Los Angeles when she set up a meeting for her before Ms. Stineman moved. Congratulations to our own Galadriel Stineman. Katalyst placed her with top LA agency Abrams Artists in October of 2007. Galadriel begins principal photography this week on Junkyard Dog. The film stars Vivica Fox, Innis Casey and Galadriel Stineman.

Congratulations to Jessica Zinnecker for booking some of the new covers for the Little House on the Praire books.

After negotiating with Rich Franklin's American Fighter Management team Katalyst obtained the right to represent him. Rich Franklin is the 3 time UFC Middleweight Champion.

Franklin is one of the Ultimate Fighting Championships most popular stars. With Pay per view numbers that reach over half a million his fan base in the 18-34 male demographic is at a top level. Franklin has appeared on many television shows including being featured on Spike TV, Fox News, CNBC, The Big Idea, and the Wall Street Journal.

Katalyst's own Erin McCamley has been chosen by Nick Lachey to appear in his Cincinnati choir on NBC all this week! Congratulations Erin! We are so glad the whole country gets to see your talent!

Congratulations to our own Lancer Dean Shull! Lancer shot last week and this week in the Sony Pictures remake of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Lodger". The film stars Alfred Molina and Hope Davis.

Rich Franklin to Star in Feature Film "The Weapon"

Katalyst, a local talent agency, in conjunction with American Fighter Management secured the role for Mr. Franklin.

Rich Franklin, former 3 time UFC Middleweight Champion, began filming "The Weapon" November 19th in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Rich will be playing the title role of Isaac, who is indeed "The Weapon".

We are excited to announce that our own Adam Gregory has been cast to play the role of "Dom" in the new Zac Effron movie " Seventeen".

Kat contacted Abrams Artists Agency before Galadriel moved to Los Angeles in September and arranged for an audition. Galadriel will be represent both theatrically and commercially.

Aleco Bravo, son of world renowned bull fighter Jaime Bravo, appeared in USA Today this past week.

Katalyst has booked Aleco Bravo for Bold and the Beautiful. Aleco will be shooting at the end of July.
